Cage The Elephant are heavyweights

○○○○○
WITH thier eponymous debut, Cage The Elephant deserve to be the musical mammoths their name would suggest.
With this raucous rabble-rousing party album, the Kentucky band sound like a cross between G Love And Special Sauce and Arctic Monkeys.
No seriously - imagine that Liam and Noel Gallagher had formed a band in sunny LA instead of drizzly Manchester, and you're somewhere close to Cage The Elephant's sound.
Their mix of Kings Of Leon-style rock with Beck-style hip hop comes out of the speakers like a stampede on tracks like In One Ear and then struts around like it rightfully owns the place, as on current single Ain't No Rest For The Wicked.
Quite frankly, if you haven't heard this summertime classic yet, then 'tusk, tusk' to you.
