Fangs a lot

○○○○●

LOUISVILLE three-piece Wax Fang's LP La La Land is a little cuckoo - but in a lovable, endearing way.
The band, led by singer songwriter Scott Carney who began the band as a one-man project, play punk rock, but with a theatrical edge - for instance, to me opener Majestic has more than hints of Tom Jones' classic Delilah.
But rather than piling it on, the group retain thin lo-fi sound which although while still loud and shouty never becomes a dirge, even on the more epic, politically-charged tracks like World War II (Part 2).
Wax Fang have crafted a record to really get your teeth into - the only real criticism I have is why have they waited two years for this to get a UK release?
