Larkin around for good

○○○○●

THE debut album from leftfield punk trio Sky Larkin has been compared to a lot.
With names banded around including Bjork, Ida Maria and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, you might think the weight of expectation would hold them down.
But The Golden Spike is an effervescent collection of pop punk that constantly confounds expectations as you listen.
The Leeds-based band are bouncy one minute - as on Somersault - and epic the next - Octopus '08.
The result is an enthralling listen, and I can't wait to hear more Larkin' about from this quirky, sharp group.
