Postcards from Ferndorf

○○○○●

HAUSCHKA'S latest release, Snowflakes And Car Wrecks - which is aptly-named considering the arctic weather we've been having here in the UK - may be a bit of an afterthought, but I think it's a bright idea.
The German contemporary classical composer, real name Volker Bertelmann, crafted a cracking LP last year titled Ferndorf, based on his changing relationship with his home town of the same name.
And this follow-up, a collection of seven previously-unreleased tracks recorded during the Ferndorf sessions, bears the same rich, delicate beauty as it's predecessor.
From the subdued Tanz to the playful Wonder - which you can download for free here - Snowflakes And Car Wrecks really is a winter wonderland.
