ELECTRONIC producer Daedelus's new LP may be called Righteous Fists Of Harmony, but one listen and it's clear that he's a lover, not a fighter. The 11th album from Daedelus, real name Alfred Darlington, is a wonderfully woozy swirl of dreamy electronica, dominated by six minute opener An Armada Approaches and Order Of The Golden Dawn, featuring his wife and The Long Lost partner Laura. The problem is, even with these two more memorable tracks, the whole thing, evocative and string-soaked as it is, passes by in a slumber. If you're reading this, Mr Darlington, please see the Junk Culture review below.
This blog aims to link people to music, and I will try to update it as regularly as possible - daily if I can. If you have any questions about the blog, would like to make comments and suggestions or would like to link to this page, feel free to e-mail me, comment on a post or join the forum Sound Off. Without readers' input - or indeed readers - this blog is just a pointless exercise in getting promo CDs sent out to me, so get in touch. I can't be right about everything all of the time - if you disagree with me, please let me know.
Everyone makes mistakes - but as a fully-trained, professional journalist I'd like to think I don't make many. But if I do, I'd like them to be corrected as soon as possible. So if you spot any typos or inaccuracies in any of my posts, please leave me a comment, as smug as you like, underneath the offending post, and I'll sort it out. Plus, if you're a resident of the UK and you e-mail me to let me know at Isaac_Ashe@MRN.co.uk, I'll post you out a promo CD or two to say "thanks". Terms and conditions apply.
To join the ranks, just e-mail Isaac_Ashe@MRN.co.uk with the subject header "I Want In" and I will add you to the official Isaac Ashe's Sound Advice list. You will then be first to know when Isaac Ashe's Sound Advice is doing anything a little bit different - freebies, surveys, competitions, anything else out of the ordinary.
